All Second Skin^® seat covers match the original design and are made from genuine VW fabrics: The high-quality interior design of the vehicles is preserved.
Your safety is our top priority: The Second Skin^® seat covers for the driver's cab seats have passed the airbag tests for standard seat covers according to the specifications and testing procedures of Volkswagen AG. All fabric variants used were tested under all conditions required for standard seats.
The tests were conducted at all specified temperatures with armrests both up and down, and with all seat and fabric options we offer.

Here are some examples of the tests:
a) Test at +23°C, left seat, armrests down;
b) Testing at +23°C, right seat, armrests down;
c) Testing at -35°C, left seat, armrests up;
d) Testing at +85°C, left seat, armrests down.
We conducted these extensive and costly tests voluntarily because they are only mandatory for standard seats and not for seat covers.

Bananenfalzbein

The so-called “Bananenfalzbein” made of real cow bone is used in the automotive industry for covering high-quality seats.
The basic material (bone) can be made so it is very fine and has smooth edges and curves. This way when applied carefully, scratches on the surrounding synthetic materials can be avoided.

We recommend this special tool for mounting seat covers as it facilitates the mounting work significantly.
